The dried wool then passes through a carding machine that aligns fibres into a web and forms a slive,a continuous rope of untwisted wool. For added cleanliness, we often incorporate a combing step, removing short fibres and parallelizing longer ones to boost strength and surface smoothness. This prepared sliver is the foundation. The crucial blending step happens next. We introduce high-tenacity nylon staple fibre or filament into the wool sliver at the gilling or drawing passage. Rather than superficial mixing, our technique intertwines nylon at the individual fibre level: wool and nylon slivers are repeatedly doubled and drafted until the blend ratio becomes uniform. In some constructions, we wrap a nylon filament around a wool core to maximize resilience without sacrificing surface softness. The homogenized blend is then condensed into roving, given a slight protective twist, and finally spun on a ring or semi-worsted frame into the finished yarn. The resulting wool-nylon yarn carries the innate temperature regulation and soil resistance of wool, while the nylon contributes tensile strength and abrasion resistance.
