Hotel Lobby Axminster Carpet for Luxury Commercial Interiors
LUCK Carpet is a carpet factory in Foshan, Guangdong, China, and we weave Axminster broadloom for hotel lobbies, public areas and luxury commercial interiors. We have exported woven carpet for 14 years from a 26,000 m² plant with four Axminster looms, 180 staff and our own laboratory, and we supply direct with no trading company in between. Most project buyers arrive with a floor plan and a design intent and leave with a strike-off they have approved, because we run the whole job in English, from artwork conversion to loading, with the laying plan and test reports beside the rolls.
Pile: 7 mm, 1,200 g/m² (6–10 mm and up to 1,800 g/m² quoted per order)

How this lobby Axminster carpet is built, developed and approved
Our lobby quality is an 80 % New Zealand wool and 20 % nylon cut pile, 7 mm high at 1200 g/m², woven on a natural jute backing in a 4 m (13.1 ft) usable width. The pattern sits in the pile, not on top of it: the jacquard loom inserts every colour as its own yarn, so a border keeps a solid edge after years of vacuuming. Tufted carpet of the same weight is held by a latex layer under the pile, and in a lobby where trolley wheels turn at the desk, that layer is what loosens first.
Pattern work starts from the lobby plan, because the plan decides where the joins land. A 4 m breadth gives three drops across a 12 m floor, so we shift the motif until a seam falls on a column axis or under a furniture line instead of through a medallion. Where the drawing allows it, the perimeter border is woven as part of the field, so corners turn in the loom instead of being mitred on site. Our pre-sales engineer also reads the artwork for what a loom cannot do: more than 12 colours, photographic gradients, or a line finer than 7 rows per inch resolves.
Approval runs in a fixed order, and we publish the timings. Vector artwork with a colour reference for every colour comes in, and the weave file returns marked with join lines in about a week. Yarn wraps follow, so the shade is approved in wool rather than on a screen. Lobby lighting at 3000 K is warmer than the studio a palette was drawn under, and that difference rejects more first strike-offs than anything else. A physical strike-off is woven about two weeks after approved artwork, and nothing goes to bulk until it is signed in writing.
Production then runs 30 to 40 days from written approval, or six to eight weeks on a full custom hotel weave. Every roll is inspected against the retained strike-off for registration, pile height and colour, then wound face out and labelled with length and drop number. SGS, Intertek or Bureau Veritas can inspect the run at our plant, and the laboratory reports travel with the shipping documents.
Fire classification for this construction is Bfl-s1 to EN 13501-1, supported by EN ISO 9239-1 and EN ISO 11925-2. The older B1 reference in some tender documents comes from DIN 4102 and is a different test, so where a specification asks for it we send the evidence we hold rather than print a class on a data sheet. Strike-off size, cost and turnaround depend on the number of colours and the width used, so we quote them with the artwork. A custom design starts at 300 m² per design.

Product Features & Applications
Where a luxury lobby needs this carpet, and where it does not
Inside one lobby the same quality takes four loads. The reception area and front desk hold standing traffic, luggage set down on the pile and trolley wheels turning at the counter. The lounge zone sees almost no footfall but constant chair and table legs, where crush marks appear if the pile cannot recover. The passage from the door to the desk and the lift core takes concentrated traffic in a band 2 to 3 m wide. The lift lobby and pre-function area carry the same floor deeper into the building.
Pattern and interior design are settled together: the border has to hold against a polished stone margin, the ground colour has to sit under the taupe, bronze or charcoal palette, and the motif scale has to fit the column grid. We also name where this carpet is wrong. An entrance without matting passes grit onto the woven face and the first 3 m wears inside two winters, and a back-of-house corridor or poolside area needs a solution dyed loop or vinyl instead.
FAQ
What do you need from us to quote a hotel lobby carpet?
Four items: the dimensioned lobby plan with the area you are pricing, the design artwork with a colour reference for every colour, the specification you are working to, and the delivery port with the date the floor has to be down. We return a price per square metre, a laying plan showing join lines and drops, the test reports, and a strike-off date. A mood board without a plan always comes back as a question.
How many colours can our designer use in one pattern?
Up to 12 in a single design, each inserted as its own yarn rather than printed on the surface, which keeps a solid border edge and a fine inlay line. Photographic gradients and metallic sheen are beyond the loom, and so is a line finer than the pitch resolves. Send vector artwork and we mark those areas before any yarn is wound.
How long do sampling and production take?
Artwork to a usable weave file takes about a week, a physical strike-off about two weeks after that, and production 30 to 40 days from written approval, or six to eight weeks on a full custom hotel weave, with sea freight on top. Where an opening date is fixed, freeze the design three months out.
Will a later phase or a repair match the original floor?
Yes, if the weave file is kept. Repeat position on a re-order is held within 3 mm of the retained strike-off, and the yarn recipe stays on file against your design number. A new dye lot carries a small colour tolerance, so we weave a fresh strike-off and tell you the difference before the piece is made.
Will this carpet satisfy our fire consultant?
The construction is classified Bfl-s1 to EN 13501-1, and the report rests on EN ISO 9239-1 and EN ISO 11925-2 testing. Where a tender still calls for B1 under DIN 4102, tell us at quotation, because that is a different test and we send the evidence we hold rather than a class we cannot back.
